The Adventures of Super Susan
Kindness is a superpower!

Using a character I created when I was eight (a hero whose superpower is kindness), The Adventures of Super Susan offers a humorous, fast-paced read in which Susan is forced to face-off with a new arch-enemy, Blaze, a boy with super-jealousy who threatens to keep anyone at South Westport Elementary from outshining him...for good.
Can Super Susan melt Blaze's heart? Or will he simply be too much for even the most powerful kindness on planet Earth?
A great read-aloud for grades 3-6, and a perfect companion piece for Invent Your Own Superhero.

Nobody Sang Like Katy Did: A Rock Poem
A picture book that rocks, perfect for older readers like you!

Rock stars are cool. So is poetry.
Saturday night just isn’t Saturday night without Katy Did and The Antennas. At least, until a rotten review leaves Katy’s bandmates thinking maybe they could do better with another singer.
What’s a Katy Did to do when she’s been dumped for a Songbird?
~
Featuring a main character who is both literally a katydid insect and the singer in her own band, Nobody Sang Like Katy Did is a picture book that offers a story about finding beauty in unexpected places. In addition, the book itself is a villanelle, a type of poetry that features refrains that repeat throughout—much like the chorus in a rock song. Sheets in the back of the book will walk you through writing your own first villanelle!

Alexander and the Amazing Wide-Awake

Alexander Gum, the best inventor in all of Eastwood Elementary, is naturally good at everything. He never misses a word on any of his spelling tests, his shoelaces are always neatly tied, and he never colors outside the lines.
Actually, truth be told, Alexander is not naturally clever or talented—at least, no more so than any of his classmates. Alexander’s hiding a secret. He’s getting help from the most unexpected place…
Have you ever wished for a magical wand that could make everything in your life—homework and tests and pre-algebra and jumping rope in p.e. and drawing tigers for art class—as easy as flicking your wrist?
And what would you do if your magic wand broke?
You can get your parents to grab a copy of Alexander and the Amazing Wide-Awake here.

Wordquake Or: The Day Izzy Ashby Removed All the Words from Her Entire School

It's a total disaster!
Fourth grader Izzy Ashby is an outside kind of girl. She dreads her Monday morning reading class like she dreads nothing else.
One day, Izzy accidentally shakes every single word out of its rightful place in every textbook, worksheet, and bulletin board throughout Eastwood Elementary.
At first, it seems like a dream come true!
At least, until utter chaos breaks out...
How will Izzy get out of this mess?
Find out in Holly Schindler's WORDQUAKE.

Wordquake is actually my very first illustrated book! I've always loved art (which is a big part of the reason THE JUNCTION features characters who become artists).
I had the best time adding drawing's to Izzy's story. One of the first images from the book features Izzy running from the books--and the reading class--she dreads!
You can get your parents to grab a copy of the illustrated Wordquake at Amazon or Barnes and Noble.
